Glimpses of the 2001

MARCH 28-30, 2001

From the very first service the Lord’s presence was evident as Evangelist Joey Hight challenged us with his illustrated message, "We're Missing Something" comparing Zacheus's approach to Jesus from up in a tree, to the woman who pressed through the crowd to touch Him. Many pressed through to the altar that night as the Spirit of God moved mightily. Brother Hight continued to stir our hearts with his nightly messages: "Get Rid Of It!", and "Not For Sale!" Pentecostal glory was sweeping the place. Hungry hearts cried out in prayer, shouting, seeking more of God.

We were blessed by the ministry of our morning Bible Teacher, Pastor William Hill who caused much heart searching with "Idolatry in the Holiness Church", dealing with competitive sports, and his demonstrated message on "Amazing Grace"... exposing the unbiblical kind of grace taught by the Once Saved Always Saved adherents.

Convention would not be the same without Bro. L.L.Collins who stirred all with his Thursday afternoon message on "Crisis In The Flock".

God also blessed us by the ministry of many others including Campus Evangelist Jim Gilles teaching a powerfully clear message on "What Is Holiness?"; Pastor Tim Brimm preaching "Washing Your Nets"; Rev. Gene Calicott's admonition to "Preach The Gospel"; Evangelist Kevin Lloyd preaching a message all should hear, "Under Authority".and also Pastor Llyle Berg.

CONVENTION MUSIC

In addition to the good preaching, praying and fellowship, we were blessed by anointed singing from: The Free Gospel Bible Institute Choir and FGBI singing groups, Pastor Hisel Carpenter, Bro. Aaron Kirk, Sis. Bonnie Sulken, Pastor David & Ruthie Brimm, Rev. & Mrs. James Hawk, Sis. Melissa Whorton, Sis. Becky Heath, Rev. L.L.Collins, Evangelist & Mrs. Larry Gibbs, Sis. Marion Sforza and more.

APRIL 2001

Dear Friends of FGBI,

Across the centuries, Job saw the greatest wonder of Christianity: "I Know that my Redeemer liveth," and now if you listen closely you can hear that proclamation of victory from Jesus Himself as he shouts out, "Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am He that liveth and was dead; and, behold, I am alive forevermore." (Rev. 1:17-18) Hallelujah! He lives today!

It is because He lives that we are blessed. What a marvelous month we have had here at Free Gospel Bible Institute! The working of the Lord continues to amaze us. Last month we presented the need for our very high utility bill and now we want to praise the Lord that He laid it upon the heart of one of our faithful supporters to send a check in the amount of $5,000.00. He is faithful!

Great blessings also came our way this month through the student ministry program. How can we help but praise the Lord for 17 saved at one church, 14 or more at another, others across the country, and many through our Hospital Visitation Program this month. We appreciate these precious ones coming to know the Lord. We also appreciate those students and faculty members involved in the various aspects of the ministry programs.

What is the price of a soul? Is it weighed in the offerings received from the various churches that have been blessed by the Student Ministry Programs? Can it be calculated in the number of miles traveled? Or, Can it be counted in the amount of offerings sent in each month by our faithful supporters? The resounding answer continues to be "NO PRICE CAN BE PLACED ON THE SOUL OF A MAN." Thank God for each soul rescued from the pit of sin. Thank God, too for the anointing of the Holy Ghost working in the lives of our students and faculty as they visit the churches.

We have just completed our 32nd Annual Holiness Convention here at Free Gospel. What an outstanding convention! Hundreds came from various parts of the United States to be a part of this. We were blessed to have many pastors represented, several bringing groups of young people from their church. It is exciting to know that many are considering FGBI for the fall 2001 school term.

Thank you to all who traveled distances to come, prayed, and assisted in so many ways to make these days so very special. The presence of God was so rich and real in every service. Many lives were touched by the power of God.

We are now preparing for the next phase of this school year. Graduation Convention is just about a month away. Each weekend from here on out is filled with many requests for student ministries. Students are praying about the will of God for their summer. Many of our graduating seniors already have had doors of ministry opened to them. To God be the Glory.

The vision of Free Gospel Bible Institute goes on as we labor and pray daily, to educate and prepare men and women for Pentecostal ministry. Your prayers and giving are important to us. For your continued support of FGBI we say a heart felt "Thank You!"

Until we see HIM!!
