ARE THEIR ANY MORE CHAIRS ?

This is the situation that confronted us as we

began our October Holiness Convocation. It was brought about by what several of our oldest pastors described as the largest crowd they have ever seen at a convention here. To remedy the difficulty we borrowed chairs from the barangay hall for the last two nights.

We thank the Lord that Bro. Jimmy and Sis. Lisa Collins were able to be with us for these services. He ministered to over 350 people nightly. All of our pastors were there
for most of the services. It was a wonderful time of spiritual refreshing. The group Bro. Collins brought consisted of (left to right) Tyler Combs, Abby Poe, Sis. Cassandra Poe, Tiffany Carpenter, Rachel Bryant, and Donnita Sloan. All of them, except the Collins and Donnita attend church in Bond, KY. They go to the Pentecostal Highway of Holiness in Hamilton, OH. It was really refreshing for my wife and I to have teenagers in the house again. They were a blessing in all that they said and did. We look forward to their return in the future

Each night our school choir ministered. We had borrowed a keyboard because the school’s was not working properly. The final night of convention we were all choked up as we sang “Nothing is Impossible.” Just before we sang, Bro. Collins announced he was donating the money to purchase a new keyboard. We thank the Lord for this gift. We bought it after seeing the group off to the U.S.
The theme for the convention was “Back to the Old Paths of Righteousness.” At the close
services, it was wonderful to pray with the people who flooded the front of the platform. The last night I felt particularly privileged as I prayed for salvation with four young men from one of our newest churches in Cagayan. Thank you for your prayers and contributions that made this meeting a success. At the conclusion
of the convention, the group from the U.S. was able to travel with us to see what the Lord is doing in Samar.

LOOKING AHEAD

SPECIAL SERVICES– November and December are filled with Thanksgiving services and several church anniversaries. Many lost individuals will be present. Remember to pray that God will do a life changing work in these needy people’s lives.

YOUTH RALLY– Can you imagine in the U.S. on December 27-29 gathering with a group of over 100 young people for 3 days of services? Every year right after Christmas, the youth of the Free Gospel Churches of the Philippines gather for a 3 day rally. Pray that God will not only save, but fill with the Holy Ghost.

DVBS DEVELOPMENT– In the midst of all the other tasks we are involved in; we are developing lessons for the Vacation Bible School program. Luann gets the ideas and I prepare the material for publication. Our churches reach close to 9,000 children each summer. Pray for His wisdom.

SAMAR YOUTH CAMP– In either April or May, we are planning on having our first youth camp in the mountains on the island of Samar. You may feel that we seem to place a great deal of emphasis on this work. It is hard not to feel burdened when you know children (pictured below) and adults will perish eternally lost if someone doesn’t reach them. The only “Gospel” their village and the one pictured across the river receives is by the yearly visit of the priest to their town festival. The expense for food and transportation for the 75 to 100 youth we anticipate will be in attendance will need to be provided for. Pray that God will save and pour out His Spirit during these services.

There are several other locations, where our pastors are trying to reach the lost with the Gospel where there is no evangelical voice. Pray that God will grant His blessing to these projects.

ANOTHER ANSWER
TO PRAYER

Last time we wrote we mentioned how far Pastor Leo Valdez had to walk to district fellowship. Pastor Ridley from Florida got a burden for him and raised the $1,800.00 to purchase Bro. Leo a motorcycle and sidecar. He has since obtained his driver’s license. November 2, he purchased the motorcycle. When he has traveled 1,000 km. it will be safe to attach the side car. How we praise God for this blessing!
Please remember in prayer the other pastors who could also use some type of transportation.

MAY YOU AND YOUR FAMILY HAVE A HAPPY THANKSGIVING, A
MERRY CHRISTMAS, &
A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It doesn’t seem possible with temperatures in the 90s, but this will be our last newsletter until after the holiday season. May the love of Christ radiate in your home! May you have a blessed Christmas
season! We trust that in the coming year we will see greater things accomplished for Him.
