The Petits

April 2006

FOUR MORE ENTER THE HARVEST FIELD
Tuesday, March 14, we had a graduation service at Faith Bible Institute. Our hearts are excited as we saw Merican, Sheryl, Marcial, and Aries receive their diplomas for completing the 3 year program. At the end of convention they headed to their respective areas of ministry. We have already heard reports of how they are getting involved in outstations to establish new churches. This is what we have prepared them to do.
Bro. Matthew Vance was able to come and be our convention speaker. How effectively he ministered to the needs of our people here. Many were challenged as he gave a fresh voice for the holiness message. God dealt with several to lay aside the things of the world and take up the cross. We are so thankful for the changes the Lord is making in the lives of the Filipinos.
On Thursday night there were over 500 people in attendance with many crowded on the outside of the tent. (Pictured below)

It was wonderful that night to see how the Holy Ghost moved around the altar. God touched so many. Only eternity will tell the full results of this meeting. A special word of thanks to all of those who prayed with us for this convention.

For the first time we had a jeepney full of people from our house church in Pamplona, Cagayan come for convention. March 2 and 3, my wife and I, held a crusade there and saw many come forward for salvation. (Pictured above one of the day services.) It was good to see them at convention as they received a touch from the Lord .

  HE IS STILL BLESSING

We wrote the last time of all the great things God has been doing. How we continue to praise Him for more added blessings:
*March 9, I received an extra special blessing. Bro. Matthew Vance brought with him a brand new Gateway laptop computer for me. When I mentioned in the last newsletter the problems I was having with my old one, our son, Tim, contacted me. He informed me that Christ Tabernacle in Princeton, Ky. wanted to buy me a new one. The Lord even worked out the timing so that Bro. Vance could bring it when he came for convention. Thank you folks again. It works great and will save me hours of frustration!
*March 27, ground was broken on the property pictured to the right in Cabugao, Ilocos Sur to build a new church. The first step in the actual preparation of the property is to build a fence (wall) around the section that will be used for the church. It will then be filled with dirt so that the church is higher than the rice fields that surround it during rainy season. We praise the Lord that Mount Calvary Evangelistic Association has provided over $12,000.00 to get this over $30,000.00 project started.

SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST

     *April 25-27- Samar Youth Camp
*May 2-4– National Youth Camp at FBI Campus
*May 30-31– Isabela Youth Camp (church pictured to the right) Many of these youth can not travel to the Bible School to attend Youth Camp so we are going there. With each of these youth camps pray that God will save young people and fill them with the Holy Ghost.
*A piece of property has become available in Laoag City where we have a congregation. It is at a significantly reduced rate. We need $5,000.00 to purchase it. We are not sure how long it will be available. Pray the necessary funds will come in.
*June 3- Faith Bible Institute begins again. Pray with us that God will speak to young lives to come and prepare themselves for the work of the Lord. This is a key factor in reaching the Philippines with the Gospel.

ANOTHER GRADUATION

Monday, March 20, there was a knock at the door of our apartment. “Bro. Petit, there is a problem. Armand is dead,” were the words that greeted me at 5:30 a.m. I quickly rushed down to find what they said was true. When we took him to the hospital he was DOA. Oddly, both his father and uncles died the same way before they were 30. Armand graduated to heaven before he graduated from Bible school. He will be greatly missed.
Saturday, March 25, I preached the funeral in the Isabela province. It was difficult for his family and for us. Armand Villa was a junior, a dean’s list student, and had actively helped the pastor of our church in Sacritan, Pinili.
