GREETINGS TO ALL OUR FRIENDS EVERYWHERE:

What an exciting time to be involved in spreading the good news of the gospel in the regions beyond! We are establishing contacts with those bringing the good news of the gospel in many distant areas. Here are but a few examples:

KOREA: Last March a pastor came all the way from Korea to visit us and observe our missions work and Bible School. He returned to South Korea and established a Pentecostal ministry organization with a holiness emphasis. One flourishing congregation is already established, and a second is planned for he near future.

SOUTHERN PHILIPPINES: A brother in the Southern Philippines, (about a thousand miles from our work) with an extensive evangelistic effort in primitive rural areas, contacted us requesting prayer support and teaching materials. We were able to send him some.

LIBERIA: Liberia, West Africa has a growing work that is an outreach work from our Sierra Leone mission.

NIGERIA: A brother with years of experience in ministry to Muslims in Nigeria, rejected offers from others to join them, because he would have to compromise doctrine or lifestyle beliefs. He rather chose to identify with our mission even though we had no funds to offer him support. He needs funds to erect a building for a training center.

NORTHERN PHILIPPINES: In the Philippines the Petits sent an outstanding report of the recent convention with Brother Jimmy Collins and party ministering. Brother Collins has been there several times previously and his effective ministry is well received. There was another record attendance of about 600, with 100 making an 8 to 10 hour bus trip to be present!

The second semester of Faith Bible Institute is in session with 38 students in attendance. What excitement gripped the pastor at Laoag when he was told that funding had been provided to build the much needed larger church. The pastor who received the new motorcycle was likewise overjoyed. In addition to his pastoral work he has outreach efforts, ministers at a jail, and teaches classes at the Bible School. The Petits are hard pressed to keep pace with the rapidly expanding mission, but enjoy every moment of it as they see the Lord working in so many lives and so many ways.

SIERRA LEONE: Please permit me to explain more fully about the special needs mentioned earlier. The work in SIERRA LEONE is flourishing. With new congregations being formed, some in formerly unreached areas, and reaching across borders to Liberia and Guinea the need of a dependable vehicle for ministry use is evident. Short term Bible Schools are operated in three key areas to provide pastoral training, as well as several day schools. Our national leaders need the vehicle to properly oversee this multifaceted ministry. Can you help?

NIGERIA: Brother Albert in Nigeria has received the gift of a valuable and suitable piece of land . His desire is to build a training school for other workers to evangelize among the muslins. There is a tremendous and growing need to counteract the ever expanding muslin influence in our world. There is no better solution than the gospel. Who will recognize the need and help us help this precious brother?

Several important and helpful projects at Faith Bible Institute, (Philippines) have been possible this year because of a generous monthly check from an anonymous source. This has made possible additional dorm space, and misc. other projects providing a more effective setting conducive to learning. Graduating students are our best source for pastors, pioneer workers and church founders.

How amazing it is that our support base reaches from coast to coast, and from Maine to Texas! Also amazing is the regularity of many supporters. Many times a glance at the return address and we know what to expect for their monthly gift. Other times what a wonderful surprise to find an unexpected generous check. Most impressive all is the unexpected, sometimes generous check, with a note, “God laid this on our hearts”.

This lets us know that you are not only giving but praying for the work of this mission and without that all our efforts are in vain! Please continue to pray often.

CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR PASTORS
A call from good friend who has provided support for several projects, informed us that they were planning to send funds to provide Christmas gifts to our pastors in Sierra Leone and the Philippines. This will be a tremendous encouragement to the pastors. On their behalf, I offer our most sincere thanks! If others desire to send something special for Christmas, we can quickly, safely, and thankfully forward funds, but cannot forward other gifts or cards. They must be air mailed directly overseas.

Time and space does not allow me to begin to tell all that the Lord is doing. In over 40 years as director of missions, I have never a time when nationals have been so determined to reach their own countries and people with the gospel. It is happening in several countries in Africa, in India, in the Philippines, and Pakistan. Modern technology makes possible new methods, reaching new areas, and the end is not yet!

We sincerely ask for your earnest prayer support, and whatever you can do financially. There are so many needy areas and worthy individuals we have to tell, “we are unable to help”, but with your help we are reaching more places and people than ever before! We are workers together in this great harvest field. I thank God for you!

Sincerely in Jesus,
Chester. H. Heath
