GREETINGS IN CHRIST JESUS  TO ALL OUR FRIENDS EVERYWHERE:

u   Two more months have passed since our last letter, and we have so much exciting news to share with you that space will not permit a full report.   It is truly amazing to see what God has done and is doing!   Our fiscal year ends on May 15th and the yearly report show a dramatic increase in financial support.  This enabled us to build churches, start new congregations, expand youth camps, increase training facilities, and reach new areas, with people being saved, filled with the Spirit and called to the ministry. Praise God!

u   When Faith Bible Institute in the Philippines opened in early June; there was almost a 50% increase in enrollment. This required preparation of additional housing, and reflected   the successful ministry of previous graduates. These are now pastors who encourage promising young people from their congregations to attend.

u   Summer youth camps and VBS programs added to the usual pastor’s conferences, and district meetings, kept the Petits extremely busy in April and May, but produced great results in lives changed, with many hearing the gospel for the first time. This continues to be a time of opportunity in this nation, and we intend to make the most of it.

u   In Sierra Leone, Africa the work of the kingdom continues a steady advance. The bicycle ministry project is ongoing and plays a key role in the frequent planting of new churches including remote areas. Our national leadership has taken the bold step of preparing to open a Christian university with a school of Theology, a Technical school, a Vocational/skills Training school, and a Graduate school of Theology and Missions. With nine buildings already under roof, their goal is to complete the buildings and open the school within a year. This would be the first such University in the entire country, and could attract students from other countries.

u   In Guinea, Africa, application was made and approval granted by the government so that Free Gospel Mission, Guinea is officially recognized. The work continues to advance with the evidence of changed lives, miracles, and healings. It is a French-speaking nation and we have been able to secure some books and tracts in that language to further advance the work there. There continues to be a need for funding for a permanent type building to replace the crude shelter in which meetings are held. Contributions in any amount are welcome toward this project.

u  Once again this summer a short-term ministry group of 10 will travel to the Philippines to experience first hand the challenges and opportunities of the mission field. The group leaders this year are Dr. Charles Pahlman and Sister Claire Beam. The Petits are preparing and looking forward to their arrival and assistance. There will be more than enough opportunities to help in various kinds of ministry to keep the group busy.

u Free Gospel Missions ends it fiscal year on May 15. In preparing the annual report to present at the annual business meeting of the Free Gospel Church, Inc., some very encouraging facts emerged. Because of your generous giving, including some very generous folks our total receipts increased by nearly 50% over the previous year.
This made possible many important improvements at Faith Bible Institute in the Philippines, as well as construction of some nice new churches, and repairs to others.
In Sierra Leone it helped put about 70 pioneer evangelists on bicycles to enter remote areas and start new congregations. Several new churches have been established, and others will be added in the near future
.

u   Other projects you have helped to bring into being are: motorcycles for Philippine pastors; Youth Camps and DVBS programs in that country; Retreats and Pastor’s Conferences in Sierra Leone; funding to enable a pastor in Sierra Leone to enter Liberia and start the Free Gospel mission in that country, which has been devastated by years of civil wars.

u We are frequently receiving inquires from a variety of nations from individuals who desire to minister in their countries as a part of Free Gospel Missions. Examples are Pakistan, Nigeria, South Korea, etc. Our world with its modern communications offers new opportunities for reaching all nations, and we aim to make good use of them.

u Again it is with great appreciation that we receive your gifts of financial support. We are workers together in this great harvest field.  We continue our utmost efforts to achieve as much as possible with every dollar you invest in this mission.  Our annual report again showed that we have been able to put over 99 cents of every dollar received directly on the field.  Our very slight office expenses for materials and postage are paid from non-designated funds.  All designated funds go 100% to the field as designated.
Thank you so very much for your ongoing support in prayer and giving. Without it none of this would be taking place.  To God be the Glory!

u Inquiries concerning Free Gospel Missions are welcomed. We have an 80-year history of missions work and expect to continue until Jesus returns. Your questions will be gladly answered. Send them to the undersigned at the above address.

Sincerely  yours,
C. H. Heath
Director of Missions
