HOLINESS CONVENTION 2006 | |||||
|
“What have you come to see? I have come to see Jesus!” These were the
words spoken by song leader Stephen Peyton to open the first night
of Holiness Convention. Indeed, the crowd proved that they were not only here in body, but also in spirit, and here to see the Lord move in miraculous ways. A youthful crowd came on fire with a readiness to see what God was going to do in each life. The liberating power of the Holy Ghost saturated the grounds of Free Gospel Bible Institute touching all who were present. We were blessed by the anointed singing and preaching of holiness preachers from around the country. ![]() Rev. Dwain Galiher opened the convention by challenging us to move on in our walk with God. His message entitled, “The Burning Bush and Beyond” spoke directly to issues facing our movement today. The people truly were in one mind and one accord, as they responded to the great challenge presented before them by these men of God. As the convention progressed, we were spiritually fed like royalty. With special instruction from saints of God like Rev. Gene Calicott and Rev. William Hill, we were edified and encouraged to |
improve our walk along the Christian path.
The morning teaching sessions were followed by tremendous meals prepared by Sister Nikki Willis and Sister Virginia McGechie. We were greatly encouraged in the afternoon services by anointed preaching from Rev. David Brimm and Rev. Gomez –a missionary from Texas. ![]() One of the highlights of Thursday afternoon was the preaching of Rev. Mike Shaffer. We were blessed by a great message from Genesis 12:1. He pointed to the “Risk Factor” that is associated with a walk of faith, as he admonished us to step out. Looking to the left or to the right is not an option. We must stay on the path set before us by God. The afternoon services were not only a refreshing touch, but a great foretaste of what the evening held for us. We were refreshed and ready for the move of God and the anointed preaching from Rev. Tracy Boyd. His ministry, as well as the singing of his wife and children, is always an encouragement to us! What a joy it was to open the facilities of FGBI and care for the many who had come to join with us as together we revisited the call of God to a life of holiness! |
