Greetings and Grace to you through Him who
never has known or will know defeat. I pray this letter finds all things well
with you and yours.
When I came into my office today, I found it as always, filled to the brim with
responsibilities. Newsletters that must be sent, faculty that must be directed
and encouraged, children that must be educated, church plans (new building) that
must be edited and submitted, and the list does go
on. But I would not have it any other way. To be busy in the Lord’s work should
be the goal of the entire Alumni of Free Gospel Bible Institute.
Each day that passes and each activity we are involved in adds another line to
how our life will read when the book of our lives are closed in death and we
receive our “well done thou good and faithful servant”. We are joyfully serving
the Lord to the fullest of our abilities in the work of the Lord. As alumni we
find no other desire but to serve the Lord as such.
There are some things in life that are so good, that we want to be involved in
them as long as possible. This is the way we should feel about F.G.B.I. And
that’s what we are trying to do in this Alumni Assoc., to keep the blessings and
the great feelings growing and flowing from our involvement in our Alma Mater.
This past October we had a wonderful Alumni Meeting. Bro. Ricky Savage was
tremendous and Bro. Clayton Massey had an outstanding message. The only thing
that could have made it better would be to have had you and more present. Please
make plans on attending our next meeting in October.
I encourage you to stay in contact with the school and the activities thereof.
We should find ourselves busy in the ministry that the Lord has given us and
interested in the ministries of our fellow brethren.
Having said all of this let me conclude by saying that we want you to be a part
of what the Alumni Association is doing today.
Staying busy in the Lord’s Work,
Bro. Gene Garrison

Work for the night is coming when no man
can work. These words are so true for we are truly in the last days. Jesus is
coming soon. We as the alumni have been given a great privilege and
responsibility to help fulfill the great commission. We are to win souls and to
disciple them. Jesus said to go into all the world and teach all things that He
commanded us. That includes salvation, sanctification, and the power of
Pentecost. It takes the anointing to fulfill our calling. I am thankful for the
teaching I received at Free Gospel Bible Institute to help me fulfill this
calling. I am also thankful that it is still the emphasis at the school. May the
Lord bless you and keep you. I hope to see you at Holiness Convention. But even
more importantly I hope to see you around the throne some day when we cast our
crowns at Jesus feet.
